Shoes are incredibly comfortable. My son is very picky but these were comfy from the first try-on.

I can't believe I wasted that much money on these shoes! When they were delivered I was super excited but when I opened them... they were (NO JOKE) 5 sizes TOO BIG. I bought a 7 in womans and it came in a 12, also the souls weren't even attached to the bottom of the shoe so when I put them on the souls just tor off. x_x. I looked like a CLOWN they were so big! I am returning them right away! If your thinking about getting some order 2 sizes smaller.

So far they have been feeling pretty good at the gym. Looks sharp and gives me enough support when I am jogging.

I gotta say, I've never been this disappointed with Asics shoes in my life. This is my favorite brand and I've probably purchased Asics half a dozen times, but I will never buy this model again. The shoes are extremely uncomfortable. They irritate my feet when I exercise and leave my feet on the verge of blisters. It's so bad that I can't wear them the next day. I'm not sure if maybe they run too big, but that really surprises me because my shoe size doesn't fluctuate and I have always purchased a size 10, sometimes even 10 1/2. Also, if your feet overpronate I do not recommend these at all as the support on these shoes make my overpronation worse.

        3-month update:
The shoes are now even worse! If there were was an option to choose 0 stars, I would lower my initial 1-star review. It's only been 3 months and the shoes are actually falling apart. I've had Asics shoes that I've worn for hours, 6 days a week, when I used to do marching band that have held up for literally years, but 3 months in and the soles are detaching. I only wear them twice a week for about 2 hours each day when I go to the gym. I'm beginning to think these are not real Asics and maybe I got a knock-off sent to me. Money down the drain :(

I struggled with deciding how to rate this product for a few different reasons. I'll start with what I love about these shoes.
        1. I love the color variety
        2. Very comfortable and provides great arch support
        3. They aren't too tight around the toes or ankles
I got the purple and silver outlined ones, the colors go great together and are vibrant enough to not be boring or overwhelming.
These shoes provide the right amount of arch support I need for my medium arches and my heels. The material allows for enough movement so that your feet aren't feeling stiff or experiencing limited motion in the shoe while running, walking, or cycling.
There's enough space for your toes to wiggle so they dont lose circulation and so far I haven't experience any rubbing od the show against the back of my heels. (I also wear altheletic socks with heel tabs so this is probably a big factor here)

My biggest issue with these shoes is that they provide zero support when the ground is wet. I'm constant slipping and almost falling when I wear these and walk across tile and laminate floors. In all honesty if I had know these had zero slip resistance I would've gone with a different shoe because in my current budget 50-60 dollars is a lot to spend on shoes that I'll end up hurting myself in.

So all in all these shoes very pretty and provide good arch and heel support. They are made with good materials but they aren't slip resistant whatsoever. If youre okay with slippery shoes that are very cute then go for it. If youre like me and want some sort of slip resistance with your running shoe I recommend doing some research on shoes with better slip resistance especially since these are on the expensive side.

Update: I just ran 6 miles in these as my first run. Kind of far for a first time but they needed zero breaking in period and performed great. No blisters or discomfort. Breathability good for an Atlanta summer day. My only criticism is that anyone using these for trail running (a good percentage I'd hope) would naturally want a longer toe box. I wish I didn't have to go up half a size to get this because then it throws off the general fit of the rest of the shoe. But that's just me. In general these have a more generous toe box than most. Not as rigid a performance as the 5s. I would probably purchase the 5s again if I could however I definitely can recommend these 6s and I'll adapt more fluently within a couple more runs.

        Original review:
I trail run 8-12 miles per week. I loved my Gel Venture 5s because they felt like they were custom made for my foot. When I first got into running I couldn't believe how well they fit.

I need new shoes every 9 months or so and I always go back to the gel venture 5s so I was very sad when I found out they were discontinued. So cue the Gel Venture 6s!

I'm pleased to report the gel venture 6s fit just as well as the 5s. The arch support is not as high as the 5s though (I also got half a size larger this time to prevent runners toe so this could be influencing it a bit). They're also not quite as boxy/sturdy as the 5s.

One of the reasons I love Asics gel ventures is because they're a very strong shoe. A lot of the times with trail shoes they almost feel like slippers which some runners prefer but I don't. I like something with good feedback and bounce and protection. There have been times I've been seduced by the marketing of other brands, but I always end up returning them and going back to Asics.

I plan on running with these tomorrow and will update but I was so excited to write my review I couldn't wait.

The only difference I've noted is it had a different tread than the 5s. One huge plus of the gel ventures over other trail shoes is that you can use them as a road shoe, which is nice. You can also use them as a walking/every day shoe and walk on tile/hardwood. Most other trail shoes you might as well walk on wax paper if you're on tile.

I've been buying New Balance MX-001 lasted shoes (MX608, MX623) for years now...probably a pair every year or so for the last 15+ years. Historically, for me, they have fit better, given more support (flat feet), and held up better than just about any other knock-about training shoe I've bought (Nike, Adidas, etc). In addition, the non-marking sole is great for boat decks (your boat-owner friends won't get upset and hand you a scrub bucket!)

As others have noted, there is a fit difference with the V3 vs. the earlier shoes. In particular, I find the heel pocket to be just slightly wider than before, so I get a very small amount of heel-lift while walking. This is probably my biggest concern right now. There is also less arch support than in older models, though with a custom orthotic, this is less of an issue for me.

On the quality side, you can see a few obvious cost-saving measures--the 'N' on each side of the shoe is no longer embroidered, but simply a plastic/rubber molding glued or welded to the upper. The heel pull loop is no longer stitched into the upper, but merely tacked onto the outside of the upper. Too early to tell about durabilty--I'm hoping the sole is of better quality than on the V2, where the outer-most (bottom) layer delaminated from the midsole after only a few months of use. Better is the label on the tongue--with the V2, it was a 1.5" w x 1/2" h strip tack-stitched on the left and right ends (1/2" dimension), easily snagged and torn off the tongue when lacing up the shoes. The V3 has a 1.5" w x 1" tall label stitched across the bottom and also into the top of the tongue--less likely to snag and looks to be more robust.
